Broadening Horizons through Sport and Culture

The East 1 Partnership schools are committed to ensuring all of our pupils have access and opportunities to engage in a range of sporting and cultural experiences which broaden their personal thinking and attitudes through curriculum enrichment.

In 2014-2015 the E1 Partnership schools, led by Hague, aim to increase the opportunities for inter school sport including competition for younger pupils. Each of our schools is committed to being healthy schools promoting active lifestyles and choices. Pupils of all ages like to be challenged and learn new skills so we are making sure that our youngest pupils in Early Years and KS1 have a range of inter school sports days and friendly inter school multi sports matches.

All of our schools love cricket. Swanlea Secondary School, Young Sports leaders will be running a cricket festival for Year 4 pupils and their dads on Weavers Field in May. Parents and pupils enjoy learning the skills and matches. The spirit of cricket, fair play and respect for one and other brings out the best in our community.

The best bit was playing and seeing my dad 'learn to catch'.
